14 Flight Attendant-approved Travel Deals at Amazon

Top Flight Attendant Travel Deals

January can be a fantastic time to travel. Whether you’re taking a snowy getaway or searching for sunshine in the southern hemisphere, there are a few weeks between the holidays and spring break that offer some great deals on plane tickets and lodging. As a flight attendant, I’m not only familiar with these travel trends, but I also know what should be in your bag to make every trip smooth. Lucky for you, there are tons of Amazon deals on some of my favorite travel essentials,

While things are back to normal on the plane after the busy holiday season, the flight crew is catching each other up on all the genius items that made this stressful time of year a little easier (hint: rechargeable hand warmers have been a favorite lately!). As someone always on the lookout for smart travel upgrades, I’ve spied a few new items in my friends’ bags that I’m hoping to try out for myself. From personal safety alarms to cozy matching sets, I rounded up travel deals at Amazon that I rely on or I’m eyeing—all starting at $9.

Flight Attendant-approved Amazon Deals

Ocoopa Rechargeable Hand Warmers

Amazon

More crew members have been carrying these rechargeable hand warmers with them on trips.  Traveling is great until you’re the only person cold on the plane or in the hotel van, and these hand warmers keep the chill at bay, lasting seven hours on a single charge. Plus, the super compact size means they don’t take up much space in your carry-on. Nearly half off, these hand warmers belong in your pocket all winter long.

Dr. Scholl’s Warming Foot Mask

Amazon

I’m not sure if it’s the cold weather or if I need new shoes, but my feet have been extra sore lately when I get to the hotel on layovers. These warming, booty-style foot masks have been a lifesaver while I’m winding down. They smell great, moisturize my dry feet, and help me relax a bit before bed. Grab three for $9 with this multipack and stash them in your carry-on for your next trip—your feet will thank me later.

Pinspark Lounge Set

Amazon

While demands for dressing better for air travel have been hotly debated, one way to stay off the radar for the style critics is with a simple tracksuit. You may not be runway-ready, but at least you’ll be comfortable in this jogger set by Pinspark. Personally, I highly recommend travel pants with elastic cuffs around your ankles to keep your pants far away from whatever is on the bathroom floor. This set checks that box, and the slightly slouchy fit of the top and bottom will ensure your comfort, even on a long-haul flight.

Mzoo Luxury Sleep Mask

Amazon

I was so lucky last summer to catch a road trip with my sister-in-law, nieces, and nephew.  We hit seven states and two national parks in two days. I noticed that my nephew would put on this eye mask and some noise-canceling headphones whenever he got tired of whatever his sisters were doing. My sister-in-law told me he can’t sleep without an eye mask and has several stashed around the house, but this Mzoo mask is his favorite. Taking a page from his book, I won’t be traveling without this eye mask this year, whether it’s blocking out any annoying hotel room lights or getting rest on a long flight.

Vince Camuto Long Puffer Coat

Amazon

A friend was wearing this beautiful Vince Camuto puffer coat during the first cold spell this winter. The hood and high collar were huge selling points for me to keep the chill out, especially for when I’m staying overnight somewhere snowy or wet this winter. And, it’s machine washable, so I can wear it over and over again during my travels and easily keep it clean when I get home.

Lane Linen Turkish Beach Towels

Amazon

Yes, I am including beach towels in this product roundup in the dead of winter. Why, you ask?  Turkish cotton towels double as lightweight blankets, ideal for an extra layer on a chilly plane or to stay cozy in your hotel room. I worked a red-eye flight back from Bogota, Colombia, a few weeks ago, and unfortunately, we couldn’t get an overhead light to turn off. The passenger adapted and put a blanket, similar to this Turkish towel, over his head—and slept peacefully until touchdown.

She’s Birdie Personal Safety Alarm

Amazon

Personal safety is always top of mind for flight crew. We’re in unfamiliar cities most of the time, and despite our due diligence, we sometimes make a wrong turn. Several of us travel with these She’s Birdie personal alarms. One quick pull and it emits a loud siren while a strobe light flashes, drawing attention to potentially unsafe situations, deterring attackers. Get one for you and one for someone you love.

Amazon Kindle

Amazon

Despite my love of physical books, I’m slowly warming up to my Kindle. I prefer to be off electronics completely if I’m diving into a good book. But my Kindle is an exception because, unlike reading on a tablet, I’m not distracted by notifications or apps, and its battery life is second to none—it lasts for weeks in between charging. Kindle’s soft lighting is actually easy on the eyes (and it’s adjustable), and it stores hundreds of books—way more than all the books I can pack in my carry-on.

Epika Universal Travel Adapter

Amazon

Yes, I’ve recommended this travel adapter before, and I’ll continue to do so every time it’s on sale. Besides having almost every country’s plug style available, it also has enough outlets and ports to charge up to six devices at once. With both USB-A and USB-C ports, you and your travel companions can get juice at the same time, even if you have different phone models. No dead phones for anyone trying to wiggle out of picking up the next ride share.

Amaskui 4-in-1 Charger Cable

Amazon

Speaking of charging your electronics, are you sure the right charger is in your bag? With this four-in-one charger cable, the answer is always yes. It may even save you from a few travel mishaps. For instance, a handful of times, I’ve pulled out a cord and had a tip break off when I’m connecting. Other times, I’ve loaned a passenger or crew a cord, and it never came back. Rather than being mad and having a dead device, I always feel wise and prepared with this inexpensive insurance policy in my bag.

Powcan 26oz Insulated Water Bottle

Amazon

There are so many reusable water bottles to choose from these days, but I like this Powcan 26-ounce bottle that has a two-in-one straw or spout lid option, and the bail handle for convenient carrying.  Most airports and public spaces have water filling stations now, so save on those overpriced plastic bottles and refill this one when you get past security.

Freshee Disposable Mini Toothbrushes, 24-pack

Amazon

Did you get the garlicky pasta for lunch?  Or not feeling super fresh after a nap at 35,000 feet with your mouth hung open? I keep these pre-pasted mini toothbrushes tucked in my carry-on for these exact situations. Simply open one and start brushing—no toothpaste or water required. And, each one has a flosser at the end, plus a toothpick. Good breath is like good manners; it never hurts to brush up a little.

Barefoot Caribou Hair Tools Travel Bag

Amazon

My parents were in town this past weekend, and my sweet mother schlepped her hot tools and combs in and out of the bathroom every morning, despite my insistence that they could stay on the counter. I think I’ll make it a little easier on her next trip by buying this hair tool travel bag, which includes a handy heat-resistant mat in an integrated carrying case. You can roll up your irons while they’re still hot, which is ideal if you’re in a hurry, and your hair accessories can be stored inside, too, keeping everything in one spot.

Cosbarn Luggage Set

Amazon

Speaking of my parents coming to visit, their luggage looked a little tired when I loaded it up to take them to the airport. Now, I’m eyeing this affordable Cosbarn Luggage Set, which comes with five pieces for just $110. I like the matching tote and toiletry kit to help keep them organized and the three different sizes offering them flexibility (depending on how many gifts they’re bringing me from home!).
