These Vuori Leggings Are So Comfortable for Travel

My standard travel outfit has been a pair of fleece sweatpants, a vintage band tee, and an oversized hoodie for years. It’s a tried-and-true combination that I’ve perfected and had absolutely no interest in upgrading — until I tried on a matching set from Vuori a couple of months ago. 

Gifted to me ahead of a group pilates class, I was worried that the Clean Elevation Leggings and the matching tank wouldn’t fit, even though I erred on the side of caution and chose a size large. They looked too small when I held them up against me, but I was shocked when each piece slid on with ease. There was no awkward pinching or pressure on my highly sensitive stomach.

While the now sold-out tank was super comfortable, it’s these Vuori leggings (in the color Ilse Blue Heather) that truly stole the show. Not only did the fabric feel like butter against my skin, they offered an impressive amount of stretch. I’d compare them to Lululemon’s Align pants with a more fitted structure that provides ample support without being too constricting.

The comfort, style, and fit all passed my initial test with flying colors, but it wasn’t until I wore the set on my nearly four-hour flight from Austin back to New York City that I was truly convinced this was my new favorite travel set. Breaking from my standard hoodie-and-sweats uniform, I wore these Vuori leggings under my Abercrombie jeans to help me stay warm on my flight. (Yes, I know I was in Texas where it was nearly 95 degrees, but I absolutely freeze on flights!)

Not only did the leggings help keep me warm, but they also felt like a second skin beneath my jeans. They’re also moisture-wicking, so I didn’t feel hot and sticky despite wearing multiple layers. I wore the leggings again when I flew to Amsterdam back in November. The flight, which is typically seven and a half hours from New York City, ended up being a bit longer due to a mechanical delay. On top of that, it was a red-eye, which truly put the comfort of these Vuori leggings to the test. I slept through most of the flight, and I was able to comfortably cross my legs and adjust frequently without feeling any tight constriction on my body. Plus, the elasticity of the pants doubles as makeshift compression socks, so it’s a win-win.
