15 Lululemon We Made Too Much End of Year Finds

I recently spent time in Japan, a country where buying yourself a gift isn’t taboo. It’s customary and called gohōbi, which roughly translates to “reward.” So, if you didn’t get what you asked for this December, or you simply want to pat yourself on the back for making it through 2025, you’re in luck. Lululemon’s “We Made Too Much” section is currently overflowing with great gohōbi options, especially if you’re looking for travel-friendly pieces to keep you cozy this winter.

How do I know? Prior to my current career as a Montana-based travel writer, I worked at Lululemon, where I got to be among the first people to learn about new products and teach shoppers about their features. While I no longer enjoy a generous employee discount or get paid commission, I’ll still gladly sing Lululemon’s praises from the top of Mount Fuji. Speaking of Japan, let’s get back to gohōbi. The following are the best pieces I found in its We Made Too Much section that I highly recommend treating yourself to this holiday season, regardless of your reason.

Best Lululemon Finds

Softstreme High-rise Straight-leg Pant Regular

lululemon

Flat in the front and pleated in the back, you could say these Softstreme pants are equal parts casual and corporate. Despite being made of Lululemon’s signature “peach-fuzz” Softstreme fabric that makes for the comfiest of sweats, they also deliver a tailored look that can double as trousers. “I’ve worn these to work, traveling, and pilates and received more compliments than any other pair of pants,” wrote one shopper who loves their “beautiful drape.”

Micro Cable Merino Wool Hooded Cardigan

lululemon

Hooded cable knit cardigans are hard to come by, and I swear I’ve had more Sasquatch sightings than sightings of hooded micro cable knit cardigans with flirty “kissing front plackets” that make them even more unique. This Lululemon sweater is definitely a fashion unicorn. Even the linen neps, which give it a stylish, speckled appearance, are random, so no two pieces are identical. While it’s handwash only, it’s a small price to pay for the benefits of warm Merino wool and linen—two natural fibers that are both odor-resistant and antibacterial (so you won’t have to launder it as often as other pieces), extremely breathable, and durable enough to justify the price.

Scuba Oversized Full-zip Hoodie

lululemon

The fabric of Lululemon’s Scuba Oversized Full-zip Hoodie is so soft and smooth, it feels like it should be dry-clean only. (But it thankfully isn’t!) It features an exaggerated oversized fit that is great for layering over other tops, front pockets with a handy interior card sleeve, and thumbholes. Nearly 3,000 shoppers at Lululemon gave it a perfect five-star rating. Their number one complaint is that it doesn’t come in more colors.

Satin Shine High-rise Tight 25″

lululemon

If I were a fish, I wouldn’t live long because I’m a sucker for anything shiny, including these high-rise tights with a sexy, satin finish. “Felt like Sandy in ‘Grease,’” wrote one shopper who wore them to a holiday party with a peplum blazer and high heels. Other shoppers say these Lululemon leggings are perfect for every activity, ranging from pickleball to jump rope class (how’s that for evidence that they won’t fall down!). They’re ideal for travel because they’re quick-drying and have a back pocket where you can easily hide a credit card or hotel key. The continuous drawcord, meanwhile, ensures they stay put while you’re on your tiptoes, trying to put your bag in the overhead bin or peer over the crowd to catch a glimpse of the Mona Lisa.

Adapted State High-rise Fleece Jogger Full Length

lululemon

If you’re in the market for a pair of sophisticated sweatpants that you can go the distance in, look no further than these fleece joggers, backed by more than 600 five-star ratings. One shopper wrote, “They started off being my travel pants because they are so comfortable, but now they’re my everyday pants.” The price point is high, but it’s warranted because you’re getting lots of bells and whistles, starting with four-way stretch, a water-repellent finish, zippered cuffs, and zippered pockets. Plus, thanks to the cinchable drawcord in the waist, they’ll stay up, even during an active day.

All Aligned Ribbed Long-sleeve Henley Dress

lululemon

The only downside of buying this ribbed Henley dress is the fact that you’ll forever be torn between dressing it up and dressing it down. Wear it with white sneakers, a beanie, and a team scarf on game day, or pair it with satin tights, a faux fur vest, and knee-high boots for dinner at a reservations-required restaurant. Made with a blend of 78 percent nylon and 22 percent Lycra elastane, it stays stretchy without losing its shape. The flattering V-seam on the back that draws attention to the narrowest part of the waist even serves up a healthy dose of va va voom.

Scuba Cropped Anorak

lululemon

We have Greenlandic Inuits to thank for the anorak, an ingenious jacket that effectively traps heat thanks to the half-zip design. Full-length zippers are convenient, but they also allow cold and moisture to seep in. Lululumon’s take on this classic layer features all of the elements of its beloved Scuba Hoodie, including an oversized hood, cinchable hem, and a kangaroo pocket big enough to store your paws and your passport. But unlike the fleece OG, this Scuba Cropped Anorak is made of a water-resistant and light-as-a-feather nylon.

Fast and Free High-rise Tight 25″ 5 Pocket

lululemon

With as many pockets (five to be exact) as a pair of cargo pants, these high-rise tights are perfect for the traveler who wants a streamlined look with plenty of storage. Choose from four different lengths and several colors, including this warm ash grey that goes with almost anything. Like most of Lululemon’s best-selling bottoms, these feature a drawcord waistband. And because they’re made of the brand’s ultra moisture-wicking Nulux, sweat pretty much evaporates on sight. They also add slight compression. According to one five-star review titled “Flattering and dog-hair friendly,” you can count on enjoying “lift and support in all of the right places.”

All Aligned Ribbed Midi Dress

lululemon

If you can relate to Goldilocks, you’ll love this universally flattering four-way stretch midi dress that fits just right, regardless of your height. I give the backslit a “PG” rating because it’s for added mobility; think subtle, not suggestive. This dress also gets an A+ in versatility. “I’ve worn it with boots and a linen shirt over top, with sandals and a wide-brim hat for a day in the sun, and with runners and a crossbody bag for a long walk,” wrote one shopper who also pairs it with a sweater for plane rides.

SilkAppeal Side-slit Tank Top

lululemon

Luxurious silk meets lightweight modal fabric in this breathable baselayer you can wear on its own or under a cardigan. One shopper who travels with this top says they even sleep in it. While simple, the side slits create vertical lines that lengthen the legs. They also allow for a greater range of motion. After all, this wardrobe essential was made with yogis and pilates enthusiasts in mind.

Dance Studio Mid-rise Jogger Full Length

lululemon

When I worked at Lululemon, these jogger pants danced off the shelves faster than we could keep them stocked. Online, they have nearly 5,000 five-star ratings and are available in three lengths and more than a dozen colors. They were initially designed for the dance studio, but between the lightweight fabric, comfortable drawcord waistband, and secure pockets, they’re perfect for sightseeing and long plane rides, too. A few shoppers even mention wearing them on safari. The lighter colors, which you’ll want to wear in the bush, come with a lining so they won’t be see-through.

Taffeta Removable-hood Long Jacket SLNSH Collection

lululemon

I recently got the Rain Rebel Jacket. However, I’m almost having buyer’s remorse after eyeing this taffeta trench coat from Lululemon’s collaboration with Saul Nash, a London-based designer famous for making elegant pieces easy to move in (he’s a former dancer). The oversized fit is classic while still ideal for layering over sweaters, and there are plenty of pockets, including deep hand pockets with snap closures. There’s also an interior stash pocket for the removable, cinchable hood. “Stylish and practical,” summed up one shopper who said it will be their new travel jacket.

InsulEight Cold-weather Run Shell

lululemon

Runners and travelers have a lot in common, including the need for ultralightweight layers that can help them cover some serious ground. This packable run shell is both water-repellent and wind-resistant, and it has a hood even cinches in the back, so it stays put. There’s a hidden phone sleeve in one of the zippered hand pockets and strategically mapped insulation in the torso and hood, where your body needs heat the most. Meanwhile, the underarm vents allow for temperature regulation. I recently spent 30 hours in a row flying from Thailand to Japan to Denver to Montana, and there was a huge difference in climate between the four airports I flew through—this jacket would be the key to covering all my bases.

Insulated Ruched Bomber Jacket

lululemon

Normally, I’m not a bomber jacket person, but Lululemon has made me a fan. The ruching on the back and sleeves of this bomber jacket adds some femininity to the boxy fit, and the cropped cut practically screams, “Pair me with your favorite high-rise pants.” Practicality-wise, it’s made of a water-repellent and windproof nylon filled with premium PrimaLoft insulation, which is designed to stay warm, even if it gets wet. While some shoppers wish it had exterior hand pockets, others appreciate the interior pockets. “Two big zipped inner pockets give you all the carry room you need,” wrote one shopper who loves the “super sleek, post-modern look.”

StretchSeal Waterproof Down-filled Vest

lululemon

Even though it’s in the We Made Too Much section, this down-filled vest is still a splurge. But that’s because it’s fully waterproof—the sealed seams keep even the most microscopic drops out—and it’s filled with a 600-power sustainably-sourced goose down with exceptional loft and warmth. It’s basically a parka sans sleeves (plus, a hidden phone pouch in one of the zippered hand pockets). While it doesn’t have a hood, this vest is lightweight enough to wear under a hooded shell, especially if you take advantage of the cinchable waist. “Insanely flattering,” reads one five-star review titled, “Worth the money.” Plus, the collar is lined with a thick fleece to keep your neck cozy.
