Since I moved to Paris, winter has become one of my favorite seasons to shop for. I never had a need for serious outerwear living in the South of France or my hometown of Miami, so the switch to actual seasons was a fashion challenge I fully embraced. A quick way to dress up a simple jeans-and-sweater combo is with classic, vintage-inspired oxfords. This style of footwear is one the French practically live in, pairing them with tapered trousers and an oversized coat in the winter or with socks and a midi dress in spring. A more polished look than sneakers, these lace-up wingtip leather oxfords are an affordable take on more expensive designer leather versions and won’t need time to be broken in—a huge bonus in my books. While visiting my parents for Christmas in Florida, Miami experienced a cold snap and I didn’t have anything to throw on over my tees and tanks on chilly mornings.
