Taproom in Salt River runs its Makeup Mondays special every Monday, with burgers priced at R85 throughout the day.
Visit between 16:00 and 18:00 and you can also get two 500ml Devil’s Peak lagers for R70. That keeps the burger-and-beer combination below R200.
Eat Three Tacos at Van Hunks
Cost: R99
Van Hunks on Kloof Street serves three tacos for R99 as part of its Mexican Monday offering. Margaritas are also available for R50. As close to Mexico as you’ll get for this price.
That means tacos and a margarita for R149. Financial responsibility has never tasted so festive.


Get Steak and Chips at Quay Four Tavern

Quay Four Tavern at the V&A Waterfront offers sirloin steak and chips for R179 on Mondays.
Fish and chips, spatchcock chicken, or six oysters with a glass of bubbly are also offered at the same price.
Waterfront views and steak for under R200? Cape Town must have briefly forgotten where it was.
Eat Hake and Chips at Fish on the Rocks
Cost: Around R105
Fish on the Rocks is a Hout Bay institution serving seafood beside the harbour.

Taste Red and White Wines at Klein Roosboom

Klein Roosboom offers several tastings below R200.
The white wine tasting has been listed at R90, the red at R95 and a mixed five-wine tasting at R120.
