Nearly 260 Financial Planning professionals have been awarded prestigious Chartered Financial Planner status by The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) in the first half of 2026.
In addition to the 258 Financial Planning professionals awarded Chartered status, the professional body also awarded Chartered status to 195 insurance professionals during the period.
The total of 453 people achieved Chartered status in the latest six months, on target to be another year of growth for the CII’s aim of improving professionalism within the Financial Planning and insurance sectors.
The CII, parent body of the Personal Finance Society which is focused on the financial adviser sector, said: “While public trust and professionalism remain central to insurance and Financial Planning, the number of individuals working to achieve Chartered status demonstrates a broad understanding of its value as a mark of technical expertise and ethical practice.”
The professional body reported strong growth in 2025, with a total of 1,139 Chartered designations awarded, building on 1,127 in 2024.
In 2025, 477 Chartered Financial Planning titles and 662 Chartered Insurance titles were awarded, while in 2024 there were 498 Planners and 629 Insurers.
Kate Gannon, Vice President of the Personal Finance Society, said: “For Financial Planners, Chartered status is a clear signal of professionalism. It demonstrates that individuals are investing in their knowledge, maintaining their competence and upholding the standards that help people make confident decisions about their financial futures.”
Callum Beaton, President of the CII, said: “We are delighted to see continued growth in the number of individuals who recognise the value in Chartered status, and invest considerable time and effort in demonstrating their technical expertise, integrity and commitment to acting in clients’ best interests.”
The CII said Chartered status was a symbol of commitment to professional standards.
