Introducing the new Kraken Prime: better pricing, better access, one new interface for everything

Kraken Prime has made a complete overhaul from an API access platform to a full institutional interface.

Prime gives institutional clients access to multi-venue liquidity, post-trade net settlement, desk-managed execution and programmatic pricing, all within a single regulated relationship. Until now, getting to that infrastructure meant API integrations or going through the desk.

Here’s a breakdown of what Kraken Institutional clients now get access to in the updated Kraken Prime.

Multi-venue execution at programmatic pricing

Prime clients access deep liquidity across multiple venues at programmatic pricing. Tight execution across venues, with the quality of a principal desk and the economics of a programmatic one. No spread markup, no manual workflow. Other fees may apply.

For institutions that have historically used the OTC desk for execution, Prime offers an alternative route to the same liquidity at tighter pricing, managed entirely from the interface.

Post-trade settlement, now self-serve

Post-trade settlement on Prime used to require desk involvement at every step. That is no longer the case.

Clients now manage the full settlement cycle directly from the interface. Trade against your credit limit, settle net at end of cycle, and handle everything (batch creation, live exposure view, settlement confirmation and PDF or CSV report export) without contacting the desk.

For clients who prefer a more hands-off approach, standing instructions can be set for the Prime Middle Office to handle both sides of settlement automatically. Batch scheduling and automated net summary emails are also live, with full settlement automation on the way.

A single real-time view of all your Prime activity

Previously, getting a complete picture of Prime activity required pulling data programmatically. That is now available directly in the interface.

The Prime trading activity view shows all orders, fills and trade history in one unified blotter whether a trade was placed via the UI, the API, or executed by the desk on your behalf. Everything is exportable on demand. Your ops and compliance teams have full visibility without needing API access.

Custom access controls for every role in your organization

Institutions operate with distinct access requirements across trading, operations and compliance. The Prime interface now supports that directly.

Assign trading or view-only permissions per team member, configure API keys and revoke credentials instantly when someone leaves. No engineering involvement, no support ticket. Built for organisations where segregation of duties is a compliance requirement, not an option.

Expanded order types, available directly in the interface

The Prime interface now supports the full order type suite: limit orders, market orders, Spot RFQs and TWAP.

Previously the interface only supported OTC RFQ. All order types are now accessible without programmatic setup, and every order placed via the UI appears in the same activity view and API feed as programmatic trades, one unified record regardless of how the order was placed.

Getting started

If you are an existing Prime client, log in to Kraken Pro to access the full interface. If you are new to Kraken Prime, reach out to your relationship manager or contact our team directly.
