King Charles III is fully prepared for the coronation, the dress will be special in Saturday’s ceremony
Coronation Of King Charles III:
The coronation of Britain’s King Charles III is going to take place on Saturday, 6th May. It will take place at Westminster Abbey, the historic royal church in London. Preparations are going on vigorously for this. Be it the midnight rehearsal or the King and Queen Consort’s visit to Westminster Abbey on Wednesday (May 3) for the coronation rehearsal.
King Charles IIIThese preparations have already shown a small glimpse of the British monarchy’s glamor and grandeur before the coronation ceremony going to be held in the weekend. The glamor of the ceremony was further enhanced by the outfits worn on the day by King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla Parker. This week Buckingham Palace showed the world a glimpse of her coronation. Similar preparations have been made to make this event memorable. From costumes to the protocols of the British monarchy are included in this.
Royal School of Needlework embroideries on the dresses
There are conventions to just about anything in the Royal Family. These are very strict procedures and protocols. Even this thing applies to the clothes as well. Royal embroidery is also done on this royal coronation dress. It is done by the embroiderers of the Royal School of Needlework. 3 of the robes worn by the King are worn by the first emperors, while the Queen Consort wears a completely new outfit. This is specially prepared for them.
It features flowers, bees and a very personal symbol that celebrates the life of the late Queen Elizabeth II. The King and Queen Consort will be seen in royal regalia as they arrive at Westminster Abbey on the morning of Saturday 6 May. In this, the king will be wearing a red colored velvet robe (cloak) with gold glitter border. So the Queen will also wear a red velvet robe. This robe was made in 1953 for the coronation of Elizabeth II.
King’s dress will be like this
King Charles III’s robe will feature the letters ‘C’ and ‘Rex’ in his new monogram. In this, letter C means Charles, while Rex means King in Latin. In this letter C and Rex will be joined together and three I (I) will be engraved inside it. Thereafter the Robes of the Estate would be worn after the coronation ceremony and when leaving the abbey.
The designs of this dress will be more personal. Two of the robes worn by King Charles III were worn by his grandfather, King George VI, at his coronation in 1937. According to the royal family, “Insects including bees and crickets have also been engraved on the King’s dress in view of his love of nature and the environment. Which is the first such dress in the coronation.” King Charles is world famous for his environmental activism.
Queen consort’s dress is also wonderful
King’s clothing can be a “hand-me-down”. These are meant to be worn before, but the Queen Consort’s new Robe of the Estate is brand new in purple velvet. It was designed and embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework. It is made by the famous Ede and Ravenscrot. He calls himself the oldest tailor in London.

Many floral designs have been embroidered in this dress with gold colored thread. This also includes lily of the valley. While it was the favorite flower of Queen Elizabeth II, the Delphinium is one of the King’s favorite flowers and is also the flower of the month of July when the Queen Consort is born.
