Loews Miami Beach Hotel Review

Loews Miami Beach

  • Newly renovated suites boast spacious balconies overlooking Miami’s South Beach.
  • Two new restaurants, Bistro Collins and The Sushi Bar, bring the hotel’s culinary offerings to the next level.
  • The hotel is also home to Rao’s, a legendary fine-dining restaurant that specializes in Southern Italian cuisine.
  • A state-of-the-art fitness center offers complimentary headphones and daily meditation sessions.

Loews Miami Beach Hotel, situated off Lincoln Road in the heart of South Beach, has been a longtime honoree in Travel + Leisure’s annual World’s Best Award’s survey. And now, it has newly redesigned suites and two brand-new restaurants.

Designed in partnership with acclaimed firm Meyer Davis Studio, the redesign pays homage to the hotel’s beachfront location with coastal colors and curated statement art. When I walked into my Oceanfront Suite, it felt like I’d stepped into my own private sanctuary. I almost forgot I was a mere five-minute walk from Lincoln Road and Collins Avenue, two main streets that see some of the highest foot traffic in the city.

“Guests who stay at Loews Miami Beach, now that our redesign is complete, will discover a transformed room experience that feels modern, tranquil, and intuitively comfortable. Every detail, from the color palette to the textures and lighting, was designed to create a sense of calm and understated elegance,” says Mutluhan Kucuk, managing director of Loews Miami Beach Hotel, in an interview with T+L.

Further, two new vibrant culinary options are quickly becoming guest favorites. While the legacy of signature fine-dining restaurant, Rao’s, lives on, Bistro Collins and The Sushi Bar, offer more laid back alternatives.

“Each of our new restaurants was created with a distinct identity, but all share one purpose: to give our guests reasons to stay, savor, and return,” Kucuk says. “Together, these venues reshape the rhythm of the hotel.”

Here, my full review of the freshly redesigned Loews Miami Beach Hotel.

The Rooms

The 790-key hotel just completed a redesign of its guest rooms, including my 750-square-foot Oceanfront Suite. The suite has an apartment-like feel with a separate living room and bedroom. The balcony with a dining table was an ideal spot for a sunrise room service breakfast.

For those traveling with a bigger group, there are two bi-level Presidential Suites on property, each spanning about 2,300 square feet, complete with wraparound furnished balconies, living and kitchen areas, a den, and private cardio fitness space.

Food and Drink

When it comes to reservations in New York City, Rao’s, a historic East Harlem Italian joint, is one of the hardest tables to snag. However, at its second location, which opened in Loews Miami Beach Hotel in 2023, you might have a bit more luck. I dined with my family of four and we especially enjoyed the seafood options, from the fried calamari to the lobster fra diavolo, and the heartier dishes like veal marsala and lamb chops.

Guests can pay a visit to Preston’s Market for a sprawling breakfast buffet and a la carte options. Nautilus is the go-to for poolside eats, with classics (caesar salad and french fries) and Caribbean and Cuban dishes.

Two brand-new restaurants, Bistro Collins and The Sushi Bar, round out the hotel’s culinary portfolio. If seafood is your thing, The Sushi Bar offers an excellent selection of fresh sushi and an extended raw bar. Meanwhile, Bistro Collins has quickly become a guest favorite for its hearty bistro-inspired offerings, comfortable atmosphere, and live music performances.

Activities & Amenities

Cabanas around the pool.

A zero-entry pool and Jacuzzi sits at the center of the expansive pool deck where the vibes are fun and lively. Guests seeking a bit more privacy should opt for a VIP pool experience at Soak, a designated area (at extra cost) with cabanas, daybeds, and a Jacuzzi. Cabanas range from $150-$250 for the day and include personal butler service, marble bathrooms with a glass shower, and cable TV, among other amenities.

Beach chairs are free for guests to use, complimentary one-hour banana boat rides are on offer, and access to kayaks, paddleboards, and boogie boards are free for up to 30 minutes a day.

The Spa

Sea Spa comprises 16 treatment rooms, a serene relaxation lounge, and two lockers rooms equipped with a steam room and whirlpool. A comprehensive treatment menu consists of massages, body treatments, and facials. Facial treatments at Sea Spa feature luxury skin care products from brands like Repechage, OSEA, and Privai.

For those looking to stay active on vacation, the on-site fitness center is home to Technogym equipment, including treadmills, elliptical machines, and stationary bikes. There are also dedicated free-weight and stretching areas, as well as complimentary headphones, towel service, and daily meditation sessions.

Family-friendly Offerings

The SoBe Kids Club hosts curated activities in partnership with the Miami Children’s Museum and Frost Museum of Science, such as guided photography, art, and cooking classes.

The hotel also offers the Loews Little Legend Program, where children “collect stamps” in a passport book by conquering a list of activities on property to earn a special prize at the end of their stay. This includes: swimming in the resort pool, watching a movie under the stars, snapping a photo of the sunset, and more.

Accessibility and Sustainability

The hotel has fully accessible guest rooms with mobility features and 32-inch doorways to accommodate guests in wheelchairs. Service animals are also welcome, and assistive listening devices for meetings are available upon request.

Loews Hotel & Co., the resort’s parent company, has a set of sustainability initiatives followed by its entire portfolio of properties, including Miami Beach. The hotel works with local farmers to source organic ingredients, including all natural protein products void of antibiotics and steroids. Further, guest room toiletry products — which are required to be all natural without any history of animal testing — are packaged in recyclable tubes.

The hotel group is also partnered with a number of businesses that promote sustainability, such as Goodr, a food waste management company, as well as Clean the World, which uses leftover soap from hotel guest rooms to create new bars for free distribution.

Location

The hotel is situated right off Collins Avenue in the heart of Miami’s popular South Beach neighborhood. Its central location puts guests within a 10-minute walk from the iconic Lincoln Road, an eight-block pedestrian plaza with trendy shops and restaurants, which is undergoing a $60 million redevelopment in 2026. Miami Beach is also home to a slew of top-rated restaurants that can be reached from the hotel within a quick drive, from Chef Jeremy Ford’s Michelin-starred Stubborn Seed to Major Food Group’s swanky Carbone.

The property also sits on the Beachwalk, a nine-mile-long pedestrian promenade with paved pathways that serves as a short barrier between the back of the hotel and entrance to the beach.

How to Book

Loews Miami Beach Hotel does not have a loyalty program, but there are a number of special offers on the hotel website. Nightly rates at Loews Miami Beach Hotel start from $254.

Every T+L hotel review is written by an editor or reporter who has stayed at the property, and each hotel selected aligns with our core values.
