4. Rietvlei Nature Reserve

At Rietvlei Nature Reserve, you can picnic on the banks of Marais Dam. There are two bird hides on either side of the picnic area. This nature reserve is also visited for its ideal fishing, wildlife viewing, cycling, angling and horseback riding. On your way to the picnic area, you’ll get to see animals on the reserve. The Marais Dam picnic site has shady spots ideal for you to retreat from the scorching sun.
