Love and ego can’t stay together, but love and self-respect (along with humility) go a long way.

It becomes challenging for humans to distinguish between ego and self-respect.

Heck, humans most of the time don’t even know what emotion is driving them.

Ego is proving oneself right. Without ego, one looks for what is right.

Ego makes you feel that your point of view is the absolute truth. Without ego, you are open to the idea that your perception is just a perception and could be wrong.

Ego dislikes the truth pin that can deflate its bloated pride. The ego is insecure. Humility is not afraid of knowing the truth. It thrives on learning, not defending.

Ego ignores fairness and justice. A person with self-respect and humility would be fair and just to others and to oneself. They will treat other people the way they would like to be treated.

Ego kills relationships. Humility strengthens relationships.

Ego is demanding more than you deserve. Self-respect is about preparing yourself to deserve more.

To grow in life in personal, professional, emotional, and spiritual aspects, the ego needs to continue to shrink, and humility needs to continue to rise.

This lesson applies to all fields of life. Even for successful investing.

Your humility to understand that you don’t know everything about investments makes you open enough to understand the possibilities.

Knowing the possibilities helps you make more informed investment decisions.

Although you may not make high, quick returns, you will continue to generate sustainable wealth for the long term. And most importantly, you’ll deserve it.

So stay humble. Otherwise, life has its ways of humbling you down.

Always introspect to watch out for your emotions.

Don’t let ego rule your thoughts; always protect your self-respect and stay humble at all costs.
