How Going works
Wondering what Going is all about? Before diving into the latest membership updates, let’s first cover the platform and what makes it a valuable tool for travelers:
In a nutshell, Going is a membership site that helps you find cheap flights from airports of your choice. All you’ve got to do is sign up to their email alerts, and you’ll get notified when deals become available. This includes mistake fares and exclusive points and miles deals that you won’t find anywhere else. You can also use their web interface to browse additional cash and points deals by class, depending on your tier.
Over the years, I’ve subscribed to many flight deal services. However, most of the time, these sites offer mediocre deals and only cover a small number of airports. In my experience, Going offers the cheapest deals, fastest notifications, and the most user-friendly interface.
There are three versions of Going – Limited, Premium, and Elite. Over the years, I’ve used all three to score some ridiculously cheap flight deals around the world. I literally save $5-10k per year thanks to their email alerts, so I couldn’t recommend it more! Even for low-mild travelers, you’ll save the cost of your membership many times over after booking just one flight.
Now, without further ado, let’s dive into the specific changes that are going into effect on Feb 1, 2024.
Here are the major changes by category for Going in 2024:
Limited version
Prior to the recent update, the free (limited) version only showed users a small selection of economy-class deals for international travel. Now, the free version will focus exclusively on Cont US deals, which was previously only offered in the premium version. Members will have access to domestic deals across the continental U.S. from your favorite airports. So, if you’re looking for a getaway to Hawaii or Alaska, read on as the Premium tier will have you covered!
As always, the main benefit of the free version is to get a feel for what Going has to offer. However, if you’re a frequent traveler, it makes sense to upgrade to the premium version – as it pays for itself almost immediately. More on that below.
Premium version
As part of the recent tier update, Going’s Premium service is getting the biggest boost. In my opinion, it was always worth upgrading to premium if you fly more than once per year or are planning family vacations. But now this version will become even more valuable.
Here are some of the biggest advantages of using Going’s Premium version in 2024:

For me, one of the coolest benefits of upgrading to premium is the mistake fares. Note: these are not covered under the free membership. Think a $63 flight to Chile or a $354 fare to Australia…this actually happened last year! And there was also even a $230 roundtrip flight to Paris from NYC. Who doesn’t love Paris?!

Elite version
The Elite tier is only shifting slightly to mirror the Premium membership for features. The only major difference is that Elite offers premium economy, business, and first class flights – which can ONLY be accessed with the Elite version.

- $1,200 to Latin America
- $1,700 to Europe
- $2,200 to Asia
And the best part? Going only shows good airlines with convenient routes and minimal layovers. In the past, I’ve subscribed to other flight services, which show no-frills airlines with lots of hidden fees. That has never happened to me with Going!
As mentioned above, Going doesn’t feature budget airlines with bad reviews. They also don’t just show last-minute flights. Most deals they send out are for flights between 2-9 months in the future. As mentioned above, I think that most travelers should consider the premium version. Deals are typically 40-90% off normal prices, meaning that members save an average of $550 USD on international flights. At just $49 per year, it will pay for itself in just one roundtrip flight.
But even if you’re just planning one small getaway in 2024, it’s worth getting the free version. You literally have nothing to lose and it will give you a nice taste of the platform.
