The Skechers Slip-ins Are Travel Writer-loved

Being a travel writer can mean embracing an active lifestyle. When I last tracked my steps on a travel day, I walked over 3 miles just going through airports for my initial departure, layover, and arrival. That’s not even counting all the activities at my destination. Since I travel often and want to avoid painful foot issues like calluses, blisters, and bunions, I realized it was crucial to find a good pair of comfortable travel shoes that provide above-and-beyond cushioning and support.

I’m pretty picky when it comes to shoes I wear during my travels, though. They need to protect my feet in style. I like shoes that let me express myself in a fun way, so I have an affinity for shoes in pretty colors that stand out and make an outfit pop. When I discovered the Skechers Slip-ins Ultra Flex 3.0 Sneakers, I knew I had found my new favorite pair of travel sneakers.

As a travel writer, I’ve worn my Skechers Slip-ins to 28 different states and 13 countries, and I just may double that this year. I feel like I’m just getting started. My default flight wardrobe is casual. I wear a long-sleeve T-shirt or sweater with jeans or leggings. These sneakers pair well with that look. However, I usually bring along at least one dress, and these trainers are really cute with many different dress styles. I love that I can wear the same pair of shoes to the hotel gym and out to a nice dinner.

I like how these sneakers look, but what I enjoy most about them is how good they feel to wear. They have air-cooled memory foam that provides plenty of cushioning and support while keeping my feet cool and dry—even on long walks in hot weather. Whether you’re waiting in a long TSA checkpoint line or at the entrance to a popular attraction, sometimes you have to stand for long periods of time during travel, and these shoes have top-notch shock absorption to alleviate pressure on the joints.

These shoes also have a stretch fit, so they feel as comfortable as simply wearing socks, which is great for long flights. The first time I put these on for a trip to Hawaii, it felt like they were made just for me without any need to break them in.

On that same trip, I was out for a walk in Waikiki when it started to rain. I had recently begun overcoming mobility issues, so I was nervous to walk in the rain, but the flexible traction outsole provided superb grip and stability. I was able to continue my stroll without worries.

If you do end up with muddy shoes, the good news is that these are machine-washable, so they’ll always look brand new. I receive compliments nearly every time I wear them, and especially love that they are made with all-vegan materials—a must for me.

I’m not the only one who appreciates these Skechers slip-on sneakers. They have over 4,600 five-star ratings at Amazon. Need I say more? Start your next trip off on the right foot with these comfortable travel shoes, and keep scrolling to explore other budget-friendly, traveler-approved slip-on styles that also deserve a spot in your suitcase.
